SUMMER
CAMPS - MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL
The Florida Women's Lacrosse League is held each Fall. The inaugural
year was 2007 with
Sunday games and weekly practices held in Fort Lauderdale. Fall
2008 looks to double in size.
Who is behind the FWLL? An all
volunteer crew and YMCA Sports. We rely on corporate sponsors and
individual contributions to make these programs happen.
Most of the players in the first season came from Broward, Palm Beach and Miami Dade
County.
Division I grouping is led by Charity
Cox.
Division II-III grouping will be led by
Danielle Hollinger.
We will have
experienced lacrosse trainers at each session for anyone interested; followed by light scrimmages. If you are interested contact
FWLL.
The FWLL fully anticipates a
statewide league will reach hundreds of women all sharing a passion to
play lacrosse in the coming years. The FWLL and the YMCA are committed
to making statewide women's lacrosse a reality in Florida.
If you are interested in fielding a
team from within your area please identify all women with prior lacrosse
experience at any level. Ask them to email
FWLL with their background information including city and
contact information.
The FWLL will have two divisions:
Division I - Intermediate to
Advanced players. Open to all collegiate and post-collegiate
players. US Lacrosse rules.
Division II-III. 7v7 depending on players experience and
preference. US Lacrosse rules.
